I was watching some carp videos the other day and also spoke to a guy at a lake that was catching alot of carp on a very hard fishing day in tough conditions (post snow and ice), and the thing these had in common was they were using flouro high viz yellow pop ups. So I thought ill try and create some sweet high viz baits to finally catch my first carp of the year. I made them all dumbbell barrel shapes and added some chilli flakes to give me an edge, cant wait to give these bad boys ago.
- Richworth pop up mix
- 1 egg
- Tps of fish sauce
- Tps of Tabasco
- Small hand full of chilli flakes
- Tbps Scopex extract (mainline)
- Tbps Vanilla extract

Update: I have found this bait works best in the winter months on silt/gravel lake beds. Used with either a solid bag or mesh bag with small pellets. Here’s a result I had a couple of weeks ago.
Hi guys I had an boilie idea over the weekend and poped in to my local supermarket and found some interesting things to add to my recipe. I also went down my local tackle shop and bought so boilie making ingredients. I think these boilies could be a right winner and can’t wait to test them out and start tweaking it.
After 24hours of air-drying these baits the smell really comes out of them but not to overpowering.
Here the recipe so far:
- 6oz semolina
- 4oz soya flour
- 2oz vitalin (blended finely)
- 4oz cream coconut (find it in the Asian section of any supermarket and tastes great as well)
- 2oz dry milk
- mainline scopex
- yellow dye

I started on a new recipe today, using flavour extracts from the kitchen cuboard, using vanilla, lemon, orange and strawberry extract which gives the bait a really starburst fruity flavour. I will be testing it out soon and put pics/results up soon look for the tag #EFB1
